Insider on a Surgeon’s Experience in Gaza

IASSS Jordan is honoured to host Dr. Asil Jallad, a distinguished obstetrician and gynaecologist, for the second episode of our impactful series, “Insider on a Surgeon’s Experience in Gaza.”

Dr. Jallad made history as the first Jordanian and Arab female doctor to enter Gaza during the ongoing conflict, where she volunteered with the International Medical Corps. Over a two-month period, she assisted in delivering 500 babies under dire conditions, providing critical care to Gaza’s most vulnerable populations—women and children.

Dr. Jallad will share her firsthand experiences providing obstetric and gynaecological care in Gaza under challenging conditions. Her insights will shed light on the complexities of delivering maternal healthcare in resource-limited and high-stress environments.
